Malaysia news: When the ultraman tries to outrun a tsunami

This is a news that had once become an argumentative international topic in 2011. I have known this news when my cross-cultural psychology lecturer discussed about it during the class just now.

Although it is just a simple drawing, it brings a very important message and deserves our ponder.

In the class, the lecturer asked us to take a few minutes to write out our sentiments and comments as well as applying what we have learned during the class of the day.
So, at this moment, when you have first seen this sketch, what is the sentence in your brain?

After that, few students volunteered to share their thoughts.
One student talked about stereotype.
The concept of his thought is roughly like "we always label that an ultraman must be very powerful. However, he cannot ever bear the tsunami."

Indeed, how long do we bring our stereotypes to live our life and it hints the negative impacts?
To form a bigger image, how can negligence of cross-cultural issues form conflict?

When we talk about cross-cultural, there should be keywords like "stereotype" and "diversity" following behind.

Yellow Merdeka day

When we talk about "Malaysia", "Merdeka" or some other related words and phrases, basically our mind may appear with "multiracial culture", "innocence", "multilanguage","nice food"...

In 2015, our Merdeka has raised to another level compared to the previous years.
This year, we have renewed the historical page of Merdeka.
Obviously, our motherland has filled with the color of bright hope- yellow.
Even the Malaysians which study and work abroad also dropped the yellow in the other countries.

The yellow people are not the people to aim for an extreme rally demonstration.
There is just a clear vision as well as the meaning of Bersih ('cleanliness' in English).
Apparently, Bersih itself means 'keeping free of superficial imperfections' embedded with the sense of diligence.
Yea, that's why the Bersih revolution has demonstrated for 4.0 (4th time) this year.

Some people think "Bersih" is a sensitive topic.
However, let's raise our thought level to think about what Bersih actually is.
In the past, there is the inavoidable historical fact that the racial issues happened in the country.
Nevertheless, the good news are that the lesson has been learnt and the nation has been more mature now.
Overall, the nation just want to strive for a better Malaysia from their innermost heart.
Not to ban whom but rather want a bright future of Malaysia.
No other ridiculous purpose to brush the road with yellow under the hot sun.

Thank God that there is no serious dispute or injuries during the Bersih rally this year. Prayer works and the people's rational mind take it for granted.
The negative and discouraging situation is minimized and it proves that the yellow group does not mean for stimulating racial issue but just want to restore the peace and right.

Hence, the effect might be yet clear, but let the time speak.

One shall take time to clean a "land".
The truth is no one can change better in one day.
Even we shall clean our house everyday to keep it clean and tidy.
As my life mentor always shares,
"Faith is all about a consistent action to clean our mind and life".

Transformation in every single one of us is often the most essential treasure to step into a brilliant future.

My life mentor always advises us, "The creator God has given you a country since you were born. You might dislike the country given to you but there is God will on you and on your motherland. So, love and pray for your motherland and He will listen as well as helping the development based on human's responsibility to serve the land better."
